THE DIFFERENCE YOU CAN MAKE
With more support now and in the future, research will find a cure for dementia.
We are already seeing a new generation of
Alzheimer’s drugs coming out of clinical trials.
So far, these drugs only have a modest effect.
But Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Drug Discovery
Alliance is working on drugs for multiple forms
of dementia. And with support from people like
you, these drugs will only get better.
Our research focuses on three key areas that
will make the most difference: diagnosis,
prevention and treatment. All of our projects
are reviewed by an independent group of
experts to ensure the gift you make will fund
only the best ideas, with the best outcomes that
will change lives.
Blood tests, brain scans and other diagnostic
approaches are getting more accurate. These
tests are starting to make their way into clinics
and researchers are working to improve their
reliability.
With your help, researchers will discover how
to detect diseases before symptoms appear –
allowing for earlier intervention which will give
treatments and lifestyle changes a better chance
of delaying the onset of symptoms.
